Greg says: "The bike and all of the components
are described in the 1984 touring bike brochure (on this site). "The
previous owner upgraded the downtube shifters to barend shifters (Dia
Compe that appear to be period correct). "Someone may also have
upgraded the stem to the Nitto Technomic. "The bottom bracket does
not have 'Trek' cast in; a plastic cable guide with Trek on it covers
most of the bottom of the BB."
